Monthly Goals

april 2015 goals

One-quarter of the way through 2015! Wow-weeeee!

Last week I searched for an email that I sent it in February, but nope. I sent it in NOVEMBER 2014. I guess that goes to show how fast time is flying.

I’d like to complete the below items this month.  If I can finish all of these, next month will be much smoother in prep for Madagascar!

  • celebrate Easter
  • finish April’s monthly book and continue with yearly reading plan
  • continue to memorize Creation to Christ stories
  • prepare and begin the 24 day challenge
  • complete walking and running goals as well as weight training
  • buy and hang living room curtains
  • schedule dentist appointment
  • get a massage
  • begin vaccination pills for Madagascar

Easter 2015 | Atwell Adventures

Here’s how I did with my March goals.

  • check shots for Madagascar We went this past Friday and have started our pills!
  • find a dentist and doctor and schedule appointments Doctor appointment is scheduled for this month! Now to find a dentist and schedule it this month.
  • complete running and walking goals Finished! Now I get to have a massage!
  • daily readings and time in the Word – I’m a few days behind on my yearly reading plan! Time to catch up!
  • ease into THM plan and continue to read and study the book I’m still learning and trying to switch out some meals. It requires alot of planning, prep, and specific items, but I’ve figured out some things that work and don’t work for me.
  • finish Unbroken and begin another book I finally finished the book, and we watched the movie this past week.  I started my other book this past week!
  • create and print a new daily cleaning schedule – I’ve decided on a schedule, but haven’t taken time to work on a printed copy.
  • hang blackout curtains in bedroom These things make a HUGE difference!
  • finish three decor projects Table, blinds, curtains, and living room shelf have all been adjusted!
  • stick to budget – helloooo, Madagascar flights.  Thankfully, we didn’t overspend!
  • continue search for a bed – lots of looking, still no bed though. Maybe a diy headboard is in my future?

What does April 2015 look like for you?

Monthly Goals

march 2015 goals

Hey, hey, hey!

This past month had alot going on, but I was able to find a good rhythm through it all.  I took some time at work to organize and define my schedule a little bit more, and that’s really helped improve my workflow.  Thankfully that’s also spilled over into other areas of life.  The Lord is continuing to teach and convict me in some areas I need to glorify Him more. Thankful for a God who loves us in our weakness and wants to make us more like Him!

So February overall goal wise, was ok, but could have used some improvement.

  • limit social media Continuing to work on this one, but I deleted the facebook app from my phone in early February.  Now I’ve committed to not logging in on my phone at all (unless I need to look something up).
  • complete two decor projects
  • celebrate Valentines Day and G’s birthday-yeah!  Our mini getaway to North Carolina was so fun!
  • prepare for Miles for Mada– only about 11 days to go!
  • continue waking up early on weekdays – I could have done better, so this doesn’t get crossed off.
  • exercise every day for the last 3 weeks of February – nope, so this one is rolling over into March.  That’ll teach me to skip runs 😉
  • complete February reading plans – Caught up on the most important – Bible reading!

And here’s what I’m looking at for March…

  • check shots for Madagascar
  • find a dentist and doctor and schedule appointments
  • complete running and walking goals*
  • daily readings and time in the Word
  • ease into THM plan and continue to read and study the book
  • finish Unbroken and begin another book
  • create and print a new daily cleaning schedule
  • hang blackout curtains in bedroom
  • finish three decor projects
  • stick to budget
  • continue search for a bed

What are you working on for March?

* I asked G that if I ran three miles a day in March if I could get a massage.  He agreed!  I had to add an amendment to the agreement when a migraine had me down for a majority of Sunday afternoon/evening; thankfully he still agreed.  Hoping that this will be a little extra motivation!

Monthly Goals

february 2015 goals

A week and a day into February and I’m finally taking time to acknowledge February with goals.  I’ve thought about them a few times over the last week, but outside of on my Notes app, I hadn’t taken time to write them down.

Like I mentioned this past Friday, I’m trying to pull back in a few areas because I’ve been a little overwhelmed by all that is going on around me.  I’m realizing more and more, that while I like unexpected things, I function best and find most joy with an overall schedule, routine, and rest.  Yesterday and today, I’ve tried to RESET and prepare for the last 3 weeks of this month, and already I’m feeling more like myself.

Psalm 62:5-8
For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.
He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God.
Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah

The first month of 2015 was good, and since not all of these goals were completed, some will carry over to this month.

  • establish and stick to a weekday morning routine beginning at 6am (I established a weekday routine of 6:15am, and achieved about 65% of the weekdays in January)
  • organize 2015 binder (up and running! I’m enjoying being able to plan and think through the months more)
  • blog 2-3 times per week (working on a computer all day makes thinking/blogging at night less enjoyable)
  • try three new dinner recipes (tried this pork roast recipe – delish; a new pizza crust recipe – so, so; and a failed potato soup recipe)
  • welcome/visit Baby Martin (love my little Olivia!)
  • read one book (still working on this one)
  • complete running and walking goals and lift weights 3x a week (nope, trying to catch up this month!)

For February, I’m trying to keep my goals simple and specific in order to continue my reset, feel well physically and mentally, and focus on what matters most.

  • limit social media
  • complete two decor projects
  • celebrate Valentines Day and G’s birthday
  • prepare for Miles for Mada
  • continue waking up early on weekdays
  • exercise every day for the last 3 weeks of February
  • complete February reading plans

What do you have going on in February?
