Monthly Goals

october 2014 goals

Well September went by fast.  So fast that here I am one month later and I didn’t speak to you at all.  I’m sorry for being rude.

But just think of it as me giving you a break in prep for this month’s 31 days of writing! (ahhhh, I’m scared again this year like I was last year). During my quiet spell, I also managed to get a few things crossed off my September goal list!

  • host a shower – sweet baby M was welcomed with LOVE
  • start planning another shower for October
  • stay on top of reading for our Home Group and monthly reading – really enjoying our Home Group book!
  • clear closet/dresser and take clothes to donate
  • finish map project – it’s back hanging on our wall again
  • list miscellaneous items online
  • go kayaking
  • complete planks everyday
  • complete 70 miles {about 40m of running and 30m of walking} – finished one whole day early!
  • practice THM or Whole30 eating plans for one week – tried the THM “plan”.  It was harder and easier than I expected… harder in that it could require alot of things I need to buy, easier in that once you start its pretty easy to pick up and understand.
  • take a weeklong social media break – last week I deleted social media apps from my phone and only logged in to check my messages on fb and to post a wish to the birthday girl
  • finish setting up guest room/office – all set! feels so good to have that room “complete”!

So for October, expect Atwell Adventures to be busier than it has been these last few months.  And while I’m not writing here, these are a few of things I’d like to complete…

  • go kayaking
  • visit a pumpkin patch
  • pick apples
  • complete 50 miles {35 running and 15 walking} and Runkeeper challenge
  • hang frames in hallway
  • finish end tables
  • get ready for baby Ruth’s wedding
  • reboot blog {possibly a new design!}
  • complete 31 days of writing

Ahhhh, fall. I really, really love you.

Monthly Goals

september 2014 goals

It’s hard to believe we are two-thirds of the way through 2014!  Time sure isn’t slowing down, so I’m finding that goals are helpful for me staying on track of things I want to try, complete, or be more intentional about.

Here’s how I did for August

  • take a sewing classcheck! Hopefully will take class #2 this month!

sewing class | Atwell Adventures

  • sew table skirt – Crossing my fingers that with sewing class #2, this one will happen!
  • check in on the MyFitnessPal and Envelope apps everyday – My Fitness Pal, yes; Envelope, no, although I did update more regularly, so progress 🙂 Still learning alot through MFP
  • complete two sets of invites – first set went out last week, second set was finished about 5 hours ago… whew!
  • go kayaking – hopefully we’ll get to go this month; our schedules have been pretty full on the weekends
  • research Whole30 and Trim Healthy Mama – a sweet friend from church let me borrow her THM book and I’ve been reading online about Whole30
  • start searching for a new headboard and bed frame – the search for the mattress went so well that we bought one! still on the search for a bed!

High Five for Friday

high five for friday

(Taps mic) Hello? Oh, gooood still works:)

Hello from hot and humid Martinez, Georgia.  I say hot and humid because that’s the only thing on my mind right now.  You see, this morning when I woke up, going for a run sounded not-so-fun, but I knew I needed to go today to help meet my monthly goal so I told myself I’d go after work.

BIG. MISTAKE.

The heat index was 102! Noooo, thank you. Three and a half miles later {which about 1/4 of that was walking} I get home and I’m practically a puddle. Lesson learned: get my bum out of bed in the MORNING and exercise.

Now, onto more positive things – like high fives!  Let’s see, these will span over the last few weeks since there’s been little updates from me, so here goes!

1. G’s mom got an outstanding report from the doctor last week! High five for answered prayers!

2. Speaking of good reports and answered prayers, my sister is halfway through her pregnancy and they found out yesterday that IT’S A GIRL! High five for being an aunt again {this one makes #10}!

3. These last few weeks have been a little crazy at work for G, but I think we’re back to normal. High five for being finished with overtime!

4. A friend from church let me borrow Trim Healthy Mama! High five for learning more about the plan I’ve been hearing about for so long!

5. Last weekend I decided it was finally time to purchase the rest of our dishes from our wedding registry. Thankfully, we still had/have gift cards from our wedding! High five for shopping and not spending any of our monthly budget!

Hope you all have a great weekend! And remember, get your bottoms out of bed in the morning;)
