Summer feels a little bit closer!

And my fridge just got a little fuller with these beauties!

Yesterday morning my friend Laurel invited me to go pick strawberries with her family at Gurosik’s Berry Plantation in North Augusta.

Hanging out with a friend, crossing off one of my 101 in 1001 list, and picking up some more strawberries to make this drink?

Yes, please, and thank you!

It couldn’t have been a more beautiful morning.  We started picking around 10:30 so while it was warm, we were able to avoid the afternoon sun.

This was the first time I’ve been to a strawberry patch in the last few years and it didn’t disappoint.

Now I’m searching for more recipes {although eating them on there own is not a bad way to enjoy them}…

What’s your favorite way to use fresh strawberries?

High Five for Friday

high five for friday

Last week this time, I was feeling tired, overwhelmed, and behind.  The weekend was just what I needed to refocus and energize!

I felt like a new person this week.  It made me realize how thankful I am for health and happiness – even though I take it for granted sometimes.  Now, for some of those things that made my happiness cup overflow this week…

1. We celebrated our first Cinco de Mayo with dinner and Jack Bauer! High five for Mexican food and a show where I have no idea what’s going on!

2. Speaking of Cinco de Mayo, I think I’ll be making alot more of these this summer.  High five for fresh fruit in the summer!

3. We have officially entered into double digit months of being married!  High five for 10 months of marriage, G!

4. This week I came home to repositioned flower baskets.  High five for being freaked out by that little situation.

5. Tomorrow we get to celebrate two of our Augusta friends at their wedding!  High five for celebrations!

Happy weekend to you!

the time we got freaked out by our neighbors

Yesterday as I pulled in our little driveway, I noticed something: Gary moved our hanging flower baskets {that still don’t have flowers in them}!

I had thought to myself a few days before how I wished the baskets were a little more visible, but didn’t really know how to fix them without reinstalling hooks… which I wasn’t going to take on this week.

Apparently though, the hooks had been there the whole time and my husband decided to move them for me for a little ten month-a-versary treat.  Way to go, babe!

Except, he didn’t.

When I thanked him for moving them so that they were more obvious, he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about.

Now I will say, Gary has a pretty good poker face, but after asking him about 15 times if he really didn’t move them, I finally believed him.

And then was really freaked out that someone was at our doorstep, moving our baskets.

I took a picture to send to my family and explain the weird situation when I also noticed – they moved our wreath too!!!

Seriously, we must have the weirdest – and boldest – neighbors ever!

As we were driving away to dinner, I remembered reading on our community message board: “Pressure washing will be taking place May 5-10 in our neighborhood.  We will try to take care of anything that is on the exterior.”

Ohhhhhhhh.

So thank you, pressure washing company, for mildew-free siding, freaking us out for a few minutes, and for your exterior decorating updates.

How much do we owe you?
