High Five for Friday

high five for friday

Happy Friday!

1. My mom has had Mal de Debarquement Syndrome for over ten years and was interviewed for this article in my hometown newspaper. High five for raising awareness and for the prayers and support that are coming in because of it!

2. New emojis were announced this week. High five for tiny pictures that make texting even more fun!

3. I hit my mileage goal for the week already so anything I do tomorrow is extra. High five for being ahead!

4. As much as I love monongrams, I rarely buy monogrammed things.  This week I ordered a tote bag for our upcoming trip, and I have to say my new monogram looks prettttty good on the preview I saw! High five for Etsy shops making it so easy and fun!

5. Tonight we’re stopping by some friends who are hosting a corn hole tournament.  High five for that and memories of Camp Wabanna – the place that first introduced me to Corn Hole! Screen Shot 2014-06-20 at 8.49.54 AM

65. go to a drive-in movie

When I wrote my 101 in 1001 list last fall, I included going to a drive in movie.  I thought it would be fun to do something different, but little did I know that when we moved, there would be only 30 minutes away!

A few weekends ago, we ventured to Monetta, South Carolina to visit The Big Mo. Before the summer temperatures got to be to warm we wanted to check this one off the list and surprisingly, the weather was pretty perfect for this kind of activity.  I actually got to use the blankets I brought thanks to a nice little breeze we had most of the evening.

To prep for our mini-trip, I made popcorn at home and loaded blankets and pillows into the back of the SUV {many people brought lawn chairs instead of watching from their cars}.  We also picked up sandwiches from Fresh Market on our way out of Augusta.  A great little picnic for a drive-in!

Have you ever been to a drive in?

High Five for Friday

high five for friday

This has been one of the weeks that felt slow going by, but when I realized last night that it was in fact Thursday, meaning that today would be Friday, I was wondering where the week went.

Our house is a little crazy right now. I’m staring at a yoga mat and weights that have taken up residency on our living room floor, I have two unfinished projects sitting out, our laundry room is full of clothes that need to be put away, and there is a sink full of dishes saying “washhhh meeee”.

Instead of focusing on the chaos, I’m going to high five for health that allows me to exercise, furniture that fills our home, an abundance of clothes, a kitchen that has food that makes our dishes dirty, and most of all – a sweet husband that puts up with all the chaos.

Choose happiness today. Yay for the weekend!
