Typically on Fridays I write about five highs from my week. But this week, it’s a little more difficult to pen.
That isn’t to say there weren’t any highs, but rather they’ve been overshadowed by loss and lessons I want to carry from it.
This past Saturday one of our friends gave birth to their second child – a beautiful baby girl. While they were pregnant, the doctors discovered that the babe would need extra attention and care once delivered. It wasn’t until two days after she delivered that they received the news that things were much worse than previously thought.
These past few days of her life – five days to be exact – have had many approaching our Savior on behalf of this sweet family. Through it all, the family has been a picture of confidence and trust in His sovereign plan.
Yesterday, the sweet baby went to meet her Creator.
Although I know they are hurting and grieving from loss, their continued trust in our Savior has pointed me and so many others to peace only our Savior can supply.
Her short life did exactly what we were all created to do – to bring honor and glory to our God, the Giver of Life.
Today we’ll choose to remember that His ways are higher and more than we can imagine.
And may God continue to receive glory from these high five days.
For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah Psalm 62:5-8
