From The Road

a quick weekend in Florida

We’re back from a beauti-FULL weekend of car rides, quick tours, celebrations, coffee stops, and family.

I’ll let the pictures do the talking.

A great weekend filled with lots of new memories 🙂

High Five for Friday

high five for friday

Happy Friday friends! I’m currently chugging a latte in hopes that my early morning cleaning session won’t have me napping by 9:30. Please excuse any excessive exclamation points… it’s the espresso working its magic! On to high fives! {see, three exclamation points in the first four sentences…}

1.) Eight months ago today I teamed up with G! Best teammate ever 🙂 Happy 8 month-a-versary!

2.) Tomorrow one of G’s friends from home is getting married in Florida!  So what does that mean for us? We get to celebrate them AND our 8 months with a little road trip and a wedding!

3.) On the way home from Florida we’ll make a little detour and celebrate my youngest nephew’s first birthday! Happy Birthday, sweet B!

4.) One of my March goals was to try three new recipes. This week I checked #1 off my list – a pesto chicken pasta bake. Two thumbs up from me! Recipe coming soon!

5.) Yesterday I had to run some errands and stopped in at Old Navy {for the first time since December}. Thanks to some major sales, I picked up some great things – and stayed in budget! Win, win!

Happy weekend!

Health & Fitness

the time I trained for a 5K

Last Friday, I completed the 8 week Couch to 5K program I started in January!

When I began the program my goals were complete all the training {three times a week for 8 weeks} and to be able to run a 5K in/under 30 minutes.

I’m happy to report that I completed all the training {24 walk/runs, just a little bit over 55 miles} and that I was close to accomplishing my second goal {3.08miles in 29:57}.

The biggest take away from doing the program is that I now have found a comfortable rhythm in my running and that it’s not something I dread three times a week.  I’ve still got a long way to go but to keep up the running schedule I’ve established, I started couch to 10K yesterday {hopefully I’ll get to cross off #51 of my 101 in 1001 soon}!

Like I mentioned in my last post – I used the  C25K trainer app {free for iPhones}.  I highly recommend this app – it made training much easier and I felt like I had a personal coach with me the whole time.

Have you used the Couch To 5K training plan?
