Monthly Goals

february 2016 goals

Well its been a hot minute since I’ve done monthly goals or updated my blog in general.  I’m going to these past few months for that. And maybe a little laziness on my part too.

While I’m “still in the water” so to speak, I finally feel like my head is in fact not under and I’m able to breathe.  What a glorious feeling that is.

These past couple of months have reminded me to surrender control, be ok with the undone, and rely on my Father for grace through change. {note: I apologize to anyone who has tried to have a normal conversation with me the last few months, especially you, G – thank you for loving and listening to my ever flowing thoughts}.

I skipped January goals and although it was a needed break, I know I do better with a little motivation in the form of a to-do list 🙂 So monthly goals – let’s get to them!

  • complete reading assignments
  • walk and run three times a week
  • host a fellowship at our house
  • work through my Write Now book
  • try three new recipes
  • establish a new morning routine – that includes getting out of bed upon waking up
  • and of course – celebrate G’s birthday!

Let’s do this, February!

Monthly Goals

december 2015 goals

Helllooooo. Can you hear me?

Okay, enough of my Adele attempts. Happy December!

As per the trend of my 2015 monthly goal post, I’m behind. One of my goals for 2016 will be #BeMoreTimely

But let’s not jump ahead to 2016, here’s how November went…

  • prep for Christmas cards – check
  • send Mada thank you notes – all but three that I can’t locate the addresses for
  • begin looking at houses – check, we’re officially #HouseHunting
  • car shopping – complete!
  • clean and organize the house – not as organized as I want but we’re getting there
  • continue work on walking and running goals – mehhhhh… 😉
  • run a half! – completed! yayyyyy!

Now for December, the month of parties, treats, a full heart, and celebrating the birth of our Savior!

  • decorate for Christmas
  • mail cards by December 10
  • finish shopping by December 15
  • host/help host a dinner
  • try to finish 2015 blog posts
  • continue {patiently} searching for a house
  • finish reading plan
  • finish walking and running goals for 2015

I think that’s it. Hopefully you’ll be hearing from me a few more times in 2015, per goal 5.

Fingers crossed. 🙂

Monthly Goals

november 2015 goals

Happy November… 6th! 🙂

Nothing like being consistent in posting monthly goals days after the month starts.

So let’s talk about October 2015. The month that I had planned on my calendar looked a lot different than reality.

  • continue training and sign up for the half in November – didn’t get to train as much as I would have liked but I’m signed up to run tomorrow!
  • get back in the kitchen and coooook, cook, cook – not as much as I would have liked
  • organize every area of the house and purge {we have a small-ish house, so this is do-able if I pace myself} – didn’t even attempt
  • celebrate turning 29 – the only item that gets checked off – thanks to Gary 🙂

So much for goals, huh?

These past couple of months have been a lot different than I had planned. They’ve been filled with lots of inconveniences, frustrations, obstacles and heartache. But through all of it, Scripture reminds me of an important truth…

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” ‭‭James‬ ‭1:2-4‬

While I’m confident these moments have been small in comparison to others trials, I’m thankful that my Savior can use even my weakest moments to refine me.

So with that I pray that I’ll continue to be joyful, even in trials.  And as I enter this Thanksgiving season, I’m grateful for new beginnings that the Lord offers us.

Here are the things I hope to be working on this month…

  • prep for Christmas cards
  • send Mada thank you notes
  • begin looking at houses
  • car shopping (thankfully, this item actually got crossed off earlier this week!)
  • clean and organize the house
  • continue work on walking and running goals
  • run a half! (on our way to Savannah right now!!! Ahhhhh!)

What are your November goals?
