56. work out every day for one month for at least 45min a day

Jogging. Walking. Sit-ups. Crunches. Leg Raises. Planks. Squats. Push Ups. Mountain Climbers.

These are the some of things that I did this month and I finally crossed it off the list – work out every day for one month for at least 45 minutes a day.

{picture taken on one of my morning runs}

When I wrote my 101 in 1001 list, I didn’t think to specify that I meant 45 minutes a day on weekdays, so I made myself exercise 45 minutes a day everyday, which takes more discipline than I usually have {just ask my husband who saw me doing some of these exercises at 10pm because I had put them off all day}.  This morning I finished the 30 days of 45 with a 5 mile run {well technically a 4.75 mile run and a .25 walk}.

My favorite benefit from working out everyday? This month I had considerably less headaches.  While I can’t say for certain that exercise was the reason, there are articles that support this {here, here, and here}, and exercise was one of the only two things I changed this month to my regular routine {the other being I drank 72 oz of water a day, which has also been linked to decrease headaches, more on that later}.

So here’s to hopefully a new habit sticking around and to headaches staying away.

How often do you workout? What are your favorite exercises?

65. go to a drive-in movie

When I wrote my 101 in 1001 list last fall, I included going to a drive in movie.  I thought it would be fun to do something different, but little did I know that when we moved, there would be only 30 minutes away!

A few weekends ago, we ventured to Monetta, South Carolina to visit The Big Mo. Before the summer temperatures got to be to warm we wanted to check this one off the list and surprisingly, the weather was pretty perfect for this kind of activity.  I actually got to use the blankets I brought thanks to a nice little breeze we had most of the evening.

To prep for our mini-trip, I made popcorn at home and loaded blankets and pillows into the back of the SUV {many people brought lawn chairs instead of watching from their cars}.  We also picked up sandwiches from Fresh Market on our way out of Augusta.  A great little picnic for a drive-in!

The Big Mo 5 | Atwell AdventuresWhat we didn’t realize was that when you pay $8 you’re actually getting a double feature!  We went to see X-Men {which was great!}, and as it was finishing, they announced that Godzilla would be starting 20 minutes later.  G had already seen it and I probably wouldn’t have paid money to see it, but we decided to stay.  The intermission gave us plenty of time to head to the concession stand for necessities for round two: coke and funnel cake.  I ended up falling asleep for a few minutes during Godzilla, but that’s what happens when I’m out past 12am.

Have you ever been to a drive in?

68. pick strawberries

Summer feels a little bit closer!

And my fridge just got a little fuller with these beauties!

Yesterday morning my friend Laurel invited me to go pick strawberries with her family at Gurosik’s Berry Plantation in North Augusta.

Hanging out with a friend, crossing off one of my 101 in 1001 list, and picking up some more strawberries to make this drink?

Yes, please, and thank you!

It couldn’t have been a more beautiful morning.  We started picking around 10:30 so while it was warm, we were able to avoid the afternoon sun.

This was the first time I’ve been to a strawberry patch in the last few years and it didn’t disappoint.

Now I’m searching for more recipes {although eating them on there own is not a bad way to enjoy them}…

What’s your favorite way to use fresh strawberries?
