An easy way to make the place feel like yours and make you more content where you are… paint!
I’ve never painted any walls in our homes {we’ve been fortunate to have neutral walls for the most part like here and here}, but I sure have painted lots of furniture – almost every piece actually. Paint is an inexpensive way to brighten up a space and who doesn’t love a clean, fresh start in a new home? If you do consider painting the walls, make sure you talk to your landlord first and get a green light on your project.
Have you ever painted a rental?
I am in the process of painting our living room right now . And when I say “in the process” I mean I started over a month ago one night and haven’t painted another day since. Lol! We have high ceilings so it’s kind of a daunting task. Here’s to procrastinating painting. I will finish one day!
Ha! I’ve got a few of those projects:) It always feels so good when you get them done!
Ive never painted a rental though I’ve been tempted to. I tend to go for more temporary ways to dress up the walls. Mostly just because I dont want to do double the work of painting it back when we move 🙂
I’m with you on the double work – so that’s why I’ve just stuck to painting furniture instead! 🙂 what are some of the temporary ways you’ve tried?
I love to paint furniture too. But I just did an entire post with tons of ideas on how to decorate a rental 🙂
