High Five for Friday

high five for friday

High five for Friday. For real. It’s been a busy week and if I had the choice to crawl into bed right now at 4pm in the afternoon, I might take it.  Buttttttt I don’t. So, onto high fives!

1. I hated to miss Easter with our families, but high five to friends who welcomed us into there home! And high five to my handsome husband for rocking gingham/plaid.

Happy weekend!

In the Kitchen

learning about meal prepping

Yesterday I began my fourth week at my job I started at the beginning of the month.

I knew that since I would be working during the day, I would no longer have the luxury of putting dinner on throughout the day, on my schedule.  Instead, in addition to meal planning on the weekend, I’d also have to do some meal prepping.

I’m still learning on this one. How long will veggies last after I cut them up? What’s the best way to season chicken that can be used for multiple items? Will G even want to eat this? Can we just go out to eat?

Truth be told, this is the perfect time in life to learn all of this, when it’s just me and G and I’m only planning for two.  Sometimes I think about working mom’s coming home after a long day, having to cook dinner, and all the other responsibilities of being a mom, I wonder how they do it.  {1,000 points for Moms; 1,000,000 points for my Mom doing it with seven!}

What are ways you meal plan and prep?

About Our Savior

easter 2014

Hello, little bunnies!

I hope you all celebrated yesterday – He Is Risen!

We kicked off Easter weekend at our church’s Good Friday service and then stayed for the Secret Church simulcast afterwards.  This was the first time Gary and I attended, and even though it was a late night, I was glad we went and left challenged by what I heard and learned.  I’m looking forward to reviewing our notes/book more in the days to come.

After we slept in on Saturday morning, I ran a few errands and then got in the kitchen to make some Easter treats for our friends Easter lunch on Sunday!  I saw some ideas for cupcakes on Pinterest and they were just as easy as they were cute! Win-win!

Yesterday we worshipped with our church and celebrated resurrection Sunday! What a privilege it is to be able to sing praises to our Lord and Savior for making a perfect sacrifice for us and then defeating the grave!

One of the songs we sang yesterday does a great job of giving praise, but I especially love the last verse:

Since from His bounty I receive
Such proofs of love divine
Had I a thousand hearts to give
Lord, they should all be Thine
A thousand men could not compose
A worthy song to bring
Yet Your love is a melody
Our hearts can’t help but sing!

Jesus, thank you for giving us a reason to sing!
