31 days – fall 2013 – exploring our new city

When we  got married and I moved in with my new roommate husband in July, we decided that we would try to explore and experience our new city with the few months we had here.  Gary has lived in the area since 2011, but never this close to Wilmington, so it was semi-new for him too!

We live in Hampstead, North Carolina which is about 15 minutes outside of Wilmington.  In the three and a half months we’ve been here we’ve been able to experience local restaurants, different beaches, new coffee and dessert places, a gun range, community produce stands, thrift and antique shops, and the river walk.

I’m sad that our time here in our first home is getting shorter and shorter but I’m glad we’ve taken the time to experience the things around us in this beautiful city!

And I look forward to the same tradition when we move to Augusta at the end of the year!

31 days – fall 2013 – weekly questions

I read alot of blogs each day {thank you for helping with this one feedly}. One that I’ve read for a couple of years is Tim and Em’s Today’s Letters.

After we became mr. and mrs. in July, I introduced G to Today’s Letters weekly questions and we decided we would try them out.

Each Sunday night before we say goodnight, we ask the five questions.  It usually only takes a few minutes but has helped us in knowing what our weeks look like and how we can best serve each other in the upcoming days.

Do you have any weekly traditions with your spouse?

31 days – fall 2013 – month-a-versaries

How long do parents usually refer to their child as “… months old” vs. “…years old”?

Because I need to know when it will be unacceptable to celebrate our month-a-versaries.

Most people celebrate there wedding day once a year but what fun is that?  Instead, we {or maybe just I} decided that we should celebrate each month!

I’m not sure how long we’ll keep this tradition up but for now I enjoy writing/seeing it on our fridge calendar and finding different ways to celebrate the newness of marriage!

Do you celebrate month-a-versaries?

p.s. – fun fact: I’m 324 months old!
